If you're like me and enjoy a deep fried turkey, or especially if you're trying it for the first time, please be very careful. Be outside away from the house/garage. Trying to cook a frozen bird is a recipe for disaster, so be sure it's completely thawed. Don't start with too much oil in the frying basin, you can always add a little more after the initial dip. Turn off the flame when you drop the turkey, just in case, and then start it back up once the bird is swimming. And remember, NEVER put water on a grease fire. This will only spread the flames. And best to have a litte fire extinguisher handy. Wishing everyone a very safe and happy Thanksgiving!
