Debt to Income Ratio

Let's talk about something that sounds complicated, but is really pretty simple: your debt-to-income ratio or DTI. Your DTI is a comparison of how much debt you owe to how much money your bring in each month. As a Texas mortgage lender, I use this number to understand how much you can comfortably take on for your mortgage payment.

Here's the good news! The lower your DTI, the stronger your loan approval potential. And paying off debts like:

✔ credit cards
✔ vehicle loans
✔ students loans

can lower your debt-to-income ratio over time.
