Keeping up with compliance is no joke. Every time I talk with a business owner, there’s a new update or regulation they’re trying to make sense of.

That’s the value of working with a PEO -- we help make sure “We’re compliant” actually means compliant.

Workers' comp is one of those things that nobody wants to think about until they absolutely have to.

And, that's kind of the whole problem.

Because by the time you have to think about it, you're already in it. A claim is filed. Your rates go up. Or something happened that proper safety protocols might have prevented, and now you're doing the whole uncomfortable postmortem of how you got there.

It's not a fun topic. It's not a sexy business investment. Nobody's out here posting about their workers' comp strategy getting a glow-up.

But the businesses that treat it as an afterthought and the ones that treat it as an actual operational priority? The difference in what they're paying (and dealing with) over time is not small.

PEOs like FrankCrum work with businesses on the stuff that helps prevent problems before they happen. Things like safety programs, claims management, job classifications, and the, admittedly, unglamorous infrastructure that quietly saves you from a really bad day.

It's not exciting. But neither is a surprise audit or a claims spike that tanks your rates.

HR tech is great...until it isn’t.

Sure, HR tech platforms can help you onboard employees, run payroll, and track PTO. But what happens when:
• A new law passes, and you’re not sure how it affects your business?
• An employee files a complaint, and you need guidance fast?
• You’re trying to offer better benefits, but don’t have the buying power?

That’s when you need a PEO.

Partnering with a PEO like FrankCrum means you get more than software. You get a team of real people who know your business and have your back. It’s like having an HR department, compliance officer, payroll expert, and benefits broker all in one.

The tech is still there (and it’s good). But it’s backed by experts who help you:
✔️Stay compliant
✔️Reduce risk
✔️Offer competitive benefits
✔️Save time and money
✔️Focus on growth

If you’ve ever felt like your HR platform is missing the “human” part of human resources, it might be time to look at a FrankCrum.

Happy to chat if you’re curious.

Logging off shouldn’t feel like a risk... but for most business owners, there’s always one more payroll issue, one more compliance update, one more “quick question.” 🙃

That’s why partnering with FrankCrum just *makes sense*

We keep things running in the background so you don’t have to.

Spend your energy on the things that really need it, not the stuff that causes mini panic attacks at the end of the day. You're worth that peace of mind.

Every week, business owners tell me some version of:
“HR wasn’t supposed to take this much time.”

And honestly, they’re right.

It’s one thing to deal with the occasional issue. It’s another to feel like your whole job has become HR, payroll, compliance, rinse, repeat.

That’s where a PEO like FrankCrum steps in. Fewer fires, fewer surprises, fewer late-night Google searches.

If you’d like your weeks to stop feeling like HR whiplash, message me.

In my experience, just about every business owner starts out like this kid. Someone with a dream.

Completely, unshakeably sure the plan is going to work. And that confidence is necessary. You kind of have to believe in the cardboard money maker or you'd never start anything.

But at some point the business grows up a little. And suddenly there's payroll and taxes. And HR questions that don't have obvious answers. And compliance stuff that nobody warned you about. And the homemade system that worked fine when it was just you starts showing its cardboard edges.

The dream doesn't change. The infrastructure just has to catch up with it eventually.

That's actually the part I love helping with. If any of that sounds familiar, I'm happy to talk through what shoring it up could look like.

Truly, the three stages of small business HR.

And look, no one starts out knowing how to navigate employment law, handle terminations correctly, or stay on top of compliance requirements that change constantly. You figure it out as you go, with whatever you've got.

Which is fine! Until the midnight Google spiral lands you on a forum from 2014. Or your friend who "knows about HR" gives you advice that turns out to be specific to a completely different state. Or the hoping-for-the-best approach meets an actual situation where something needs to actually be right.

The DIY approach to HR has a ceiling. And it's usually lower than people expect.

Having real support means actual answers that are specific to your business, your people, and your situation. Not a best guess from three unreliable sources at 11pm.

If you're ready to close the 47 browser tabs, let's talk.

One of the biggest misconceptions I hear about PEOs is that they’re too expensive for small businesses. But when you actually break down the numbers, the opposite is usually true.

Hiring and maintaining a full-time HR team comes with a long list of costs — salary, benefits, training, software, risk exposure. With a PEO, businesses get access to HR experts, payroll support, compliance guidance, and benefits administration at a fraction of the cost.

In fact, data shows that businesses see a 27% ROI in upfront cost savings alone when they partner with a PEO. And that doesn’t even factor in the long-term gains like reduced turnover and better benefits packages.

If this challenges what you’ve always assumed about PEOs, you’re not alone. It never hurts to run the numbers.
