I get it. You have a low interest rate, and I am so happy for you! Not in a southern "bless your heart" kind of way, in a genuinely happy for you kind of way!

I am so glad that I got to help people lock in the lowest rates we have ever seen (and probably ever will see) during that 2020-2021 era, and help them create an even better financial life for themselves!

However, I also know that life happens. To quote our friend Rocky, "Ain't nothing gonna hit harder than life", and when it does, many times, financial hardship follows. Expenses go on credit cards or personal loans with high interest rates. Your car break down, and you need a new one...with a higher interest rate. Your AC kicks so you had to finance a new one....with a high interest rate.

If you bought 5+ years ago you likely have equity in your house. Equity you can take out and use to pay off that high interest debt at a MUCH lower interest rate. Lowering your monthly payment obligations and giving you some breathing room.

I just discovered Google trends, because, well, I guess I am bit of a newb, BUT, I am learning!

Anyway, when looking up what people were searching when it pertains to mortgages, I guess I wasn't totally surprised, but a lot of the topics I could likely give someone a clear, concise, factual answer faster than Google would.

My qualm with googling some of the topics listed is that there is SO MUCH info out there that might be wrong or misleading in order to get people to call and then they "gotcha".

Just pick up the phone and give me a ring! I promise I'll give you the estimated numbers, and the honesty you are looking for.

I understand that it feels like many people are being squeezed financially.

I see it too. At the pump, at the grocery store, it's hard to miss the fact that things are more expensive.

So, when I hear people say, I just can't afford a mortgage. I 100% get it. And now may not be the best time for you, but if you have been thinking about buying a home, and have recently just jumped off the fence, remember, a home isn't just a place to lay your head...it is an investment too.

On Top of that, there are ways to lower that monthly investment for you with a term called "house hacking".

Are you a young couple or a single person that doesn't mind living with a few roommates? Rent out your extra bedrooms to friends. How about buying a duplex or triplex and living in 1 unit and renting out the others?

Here in Pinellas County, FL there are numerous homes with ADUs (Accessory Dweeling Units) in the back of them that you can rent out.

That rent will drastically reduce your monthly housing expenses while you build equity in your new home.

Divorce. It sucks.

0/10 do not recommend as someone whose parents got divorced when I was 4 years old.

However, it happens. And when it happens, it is important to surround yourself with people that are going to make an extremely difficult process as easy as possible for you.

Family Lawyers, Accountants, Financial Advisors, Realtors, Insurance professionals, and....you guessed it, Mortgage Brokers.

Sometimes people forget about the mortgage pros though, and it's totally understandable. There are about 5 million things going on in their mind other than, "I need to reach out to my mortgage guy".

But, if you know someone going through a divorce, maybe you can send them this video, and it can help, even if only a little bit.

I always wanted to be a history professor. My love for history started with my paternal Grandfather and Grandmother.

My Grandfather was a WWII combat medic with the Big Red 1 and saw major European campaigns like Northern Africa, Sicily, D-Day (Omaha Beach), and Battle of the Bulge.

He was a rare breed of GI who spoke about it constantly and my Grandmother was his historian. I got to hold his combat medals, including his purple heart, and I was immediately fascinated with history.

So, naturally, I excelled in those courses, but, and it feels weird to say, when I found out how DRASTICALLY underpaid teachers were, I shifted my focus to sales when I graduated College.

My Father had been in sales his whole life, how hard could it be? Well...REALLY FREAKING HARD is the answer to that question. Especially for a person like myself who wasn't a natural born salesman.

I struggled for the first 4 years. Really struggled. I knew it was time for a shift. So at the end of 2017, I dove into learning. I was a sponge. I read all the books, dove into the guidelines, listened to the gurus, and learned the markets and what affects them.

The way I did business totally changed. I led with education, not sales tactics. I found enjoyment in my work again, and I started to really excel!

2026 is my 13th year in the industry, and I can truly say I enjoy what I do. I love educating my clients and referral partners and I hope this page helps to further that mission.
