Labor Day is all about celebrating the workforce, and the best way to honor hard work is to take a real break from it. So to celebrate, our team is fully committing to the cause by penciling some cat naps into our schedules this weekend.

I get it. You have heard the phrase "Marry the house, date the rate" a TON of times and you are over it.

You are just going to wait until rates drop again and then buy.

You are your own person and can do whatever you believe is right for yourself and your family, but as a mortgage professional, it is my job to help you see all sides of the transaction.

I want everyone to buy a home.

Not just because I make money on that transaction. I TRULY believe that owning a home is a fantastic way for a normal person to level up their net worth, and diversify their investments.

However, just like all investments, you have to play the long game. 2020 and 2021 were absolute anomalies in equity gains and they are not coming back again.

That is one of the reasons why this topic hurts my heart so much. First off, I feel terrible that my client's relationship is ending, and secondly, I know that their financial future may suffer as well.

I hate it. I got into this business to help people. To make their dream of homeownership a reality and set them up for a better financial future and when things like this happen in the first year or 2, it breaks my heart.

So, please, sit down with that other person. Make sure that this is the right decision for both of you. If one of you feels more strongly about homeownership than the other, that's fine! I am more than happy to try and see if it will work with just you alone, or we can discuss other options.

With back-to-school season here, we are sending our warmest wishes to all of the families with little ones. We hope everyone has a wonderful start to the new school year, and for the new elementary parents like us, I hope for minimal tears at dropoff...I'm looking at you, Dads.

And if there is anything you would like to discuss before the end of the year, please don't hesitate to reach out! Remember, you have to establish residence by the end of the year in order to take advantage of any potential tax savings should the propety tax legislation pass!

When I joined BNI, I was green as green can be.

I just graduated college, had excelled at everything I put my mind to and was CERTAIN that I was going to immediately excel at Mortgages...but that is not how the real world works.

It takes time, it takes hard work, it takes constant learning and networking and motivating yourself every single day. However, I would be remiss if I didn't say, "I wouldn't be anywhere near where I am today without BNI".

Not because of the business I have gotten, which has been alot, let's not get it twisted, but it is all the other things BNI offers to its members that people don't understand. The networking, the education, the opportunity to hone your craft with a room of fellow business professionals, I could go on and on.

So, when I was asked to share what BNI meant to me, yes, the business is great, but it is so, so much more than that.
