Have you received your MCCA refund yet ? To date, clients from my office have received close to $200,000 from the carrier partners we work with.
If you haven't gotten your money yet, this might be a good time to ask yourself about the insurance carrier you do business with ?!?!
Chances are, if they're still holding onto to your money to squeeze a couple of dollars on the interest income, it's safe to say that after you have had a loss, they are probably not going to be in any hurry to disburse a claims settlement payment either.
Always work with an Insurance professional, you'll be especially thankful if and when you are ever in a time of greatest need ...

Great article in this month's AARP bulletin regarding if/when to file an insurance claim ... while it's certainly your right, depending on the circumstances, as well as the end result of your loss (i.e. relatable expenses / damage done), if might not be the best move. The reality of the marketplace is, insurance carriers keep track of claims and there comes a point, where they might surcharge your policy; which depending the costs associated with your original loss, may exceed the loss itself.

Depending on who you're insured with, it can be tough to get advice and/or direction when you are dialing an 800 number and talking to a CSR du jour ... but it's called SERVICE and that's what agencies like mine provide to our customers everyday !

If you are hesitating to file an insurance claim, fearing a rate hike or policy cancellation, these are factors to consider.
