Ray Dalio once said, "If you're not aggressive, you're not going to make money, and if you're not defensive, you're not going to keep money." It's a reminder that building wealth requires taking calculated risks, but preserving wealth requires discipline, diversification, and smart decision making. The most successful investors know when to push forward and when to protect what they've built.

Do you agree with Ray Dalio's investing philosophy?

Wealth isn’t built by predicting every move. It’s built by understanding the cycle.

Ray Dalio’s investing philosophy highlights a powerful idea: markets, economies, and human behavior tend to move through repeating patterns.

That doesn’t mean anyone can perfectly predict what happens next.

It means disciplined investors pay attention to the bigger picture—economic conditions, risk, diversification, debt, and long-term trends—rather than reacting emotionally to every headline.

The hardest part of investing may not be finding information.

It may be staying rational when fear and excitement are pulling everyone in different directions.

Real financial progress is often less about chasing the next opportunity and more about developing a process you can stick with through uncertainty.

Think long term. Study the cycle. Understand the risks. Make decisions based on principles—not hype.

What matters more in investing: patience, knowledge, or discipline?

My reaction from just watching the solar eclipse is that it was a spiritual moment because it brought people with all different backgrounds and values together with nature and each other in a shared valued moment. The World Cup was like this except it didn’t have the nature part. I hope for more of these shared moments because spirituality, if understood and felt, would bring about the best path forward.

To me, the greatest battle is between spirituality—feeling a part of and taking care of the shared common good of all humanity and nature—and fighting for and inflicting harm for oneself and those on your side. More than anything, whether spirituality wins this battle over selfishness will determine the well-being and perhaps the sustainability of mankind.
