🌽🚜 HARVEST AROUND WRIGHT COUNTY 🚜🌽

From the field to the feed mill! 🌽

Harvest doesn't stop once the combine finishes its pass through the field!

After the corn is harvested and loaded into trucks, it's time to haul it in and unload. Here, a semi unloads a load of freshly harvested corn at the Galt Feed Mill, showing another important step in the journey from field to feed.

It's a great reminder that harvest involves more than just the work happening in the fields. From farmers and truck drivers to the people working at local facilities, there's a lot that goes into keeping things moving this time of year!

📸 Thank you to WCFB Director Austin Charlson for sharing this glimpse of harvest!

🌽🚜 HARVEST AROUND WRIGHT COUNTY 🚜🌽

Another field, another step closer to wrapping up harvest! 🌾

A combine makes its way through a soybean field, bringing in this year's crop as harvest continues across Wright County.

While corn harvest often gets plenty of attention, soybeans are just as much a part of the busy fall season! From early mornings to long days in the field, farmers are working hard to get their crops harvested.

📸 A big thank you to FBFS Agent Brad Traub for sharing this glimpse of harvest!

🌽🚜 HARVEST AROUND WRIGHT COUNTY 🚜🌽

Harvest is a team effort! 💪

Near Woolstock, a grain cart unloads freshly harvested corn into a waiting semi, keeping the grain moving and the combines rolling!

There's a lot more to harvest than what happens behind the wheel of a combine. From grain cart operators to truck drivers, everyone plays a part in getting this year's crop out of the field!

Harvest isn't just about combines rolling through the fields!

FBFS Sales Associate Coady Olson shared this photo from his grandmother Melody Olson’s farm, where rows of round bales remind us that harvest season involves a whole lot more than corn and soybeans! 🌾

From baling hay to combining crops and everything in between, there's plenty of work happening on farms across Wright County this fall!

🌽🚜 HARVEST AROUND WRIGHT COUNTY 🚜🌽

📸 SEND US your harvest photos!

Harvest is underway across Wright County, and we want to see it through your eyes!

Over the next several weeks, we’ll be sharing photos of harvest happening throughout the county—both here on Facebook and in the Spokesman.

Combines rolling through the field, grain carts and trucks, unloading, breakdowns and repairs, beautiful sunsets, meals in the field, kids riding along, family working together… we want to see what harvest really looks like for you!

📸 so SEND US your harvest photos!

And yes, people are encouraged to be in the pictures too! 😉 Selfies may even earn you bonus points. 😂

Send your photos to [email protected] or click that message button on this post and send them that way. If you can, include who is pictured and where in Wright County the photo was taken.

We can’t wait to share Harvest Around Wright County with you! 🌽🚜

And to all of our farmers in the field—have a safe and successful harvest!

💦 Safety Day Camp Station Spotlight: Water Safety 🛟

Next up in our Safety Day Camp station highlights is Wright County Naturalist Aubrey Brandt!

Our third graders learned how to stay safe around pools, lakes, rivers and other bodies of water. 🏊 They talked about the importance of wearing a life jacket, having an adult nearby and knowing what to do if they or someone else gets into trouble in the water.

Students also learned that water can be unpredictable and why making smart choices around it is so important—even for strong swimmers. 🛟

A big thank you to Aubrey for giving our third graders important water safety lessons they can use all year long!

🚨 Safety Day Camp Station Spotlight: Emergency Preparedness 🐾

Next up in our Safety Day Camp station highlights is Wright County Emergency Management!

Our third graders learned what it means to be prepared when an emergency happens and some of the things they can do to help keep themselves and their families safe. 🚨🏠

They put their knowledge to the test with a fun game of Emergency Preparedness BINGO and also got to meet members of the Crisis Canines team! 🐾 Students learned about the special role these dogs can play during emergencies and how they can provide comfort and support when people may be going through a difficult or stressful situation.

A big thank you to Wright County Emergency Management and Crisis Canines for making emergency preparedness fun, interactive and memorable for our third graders!

🚜 Safety Day Camp Station Spotlight: Machine Safety 🚛

Next up in our Safety Day Camp station highlights is Gold Eagle Cooperative!

Our third graders learned about equipment blind spots and just how difficult it can be for operators to see people around large farm equipment. ⚠️

The kids even got to climb inside a tractor, semi and sprayer to see things from the operator’s point of view! From the cab, they were able to see firsthand just how easily a person can disappear into a blind spot—even when they may feel like they’re standing far enough away.

It was a great hands-on reminder to never assume an equipment operator can see you and to always give large equipment plenty of space.

A big thank you to Gold Eagle Cooperative for giving our third graders a whole new perspective on machine safety!
