Community and family are truly the foundation of my small business. ❤️
Yesterday was one of those days that reminded me exactly why I love where we live and what I get to do.
The day started with a 4-H'er stopping into the office to thank me for purchasing his hog at the fair auction. 🐷💚 From there, I headed out on a farm pre-inspection and later had a Clarinda resident stop in looking for home and auto insurance after learning their current homeowner's carrier was leaving the state of Iowa altogether.
That conversation was another reminder of something I'm very proud of—Farm Bureau Financial Services has deep Iowa roots. Our story started right here in Iowa, and our corporate office remains in West Des Moines today. There is something pretty special about representing a company that understands the communities, farms, families, and people we serve. ❤️
Then last night, I was able to attend the Page County Farm Bureau Membership Appreciation Dinner with some of my family. Naturally, I didn't get a picture with them 😂 but I DID get one with some of the best FFA gals around! 💙💛
It was a great evening with a wonderful meal, good conversation, and a really informative speaker from Iowa Farm Bureau discussing some pretty big issues affecting rural Iowa—landowner rights, eminent domain, natural gas pipelines, power lines, data centers, and other large infrastructure projects aka the solar field discussion north of Clarinda.
When I looked back on the day, it really was a little bit of everything....4-H, farms, helping a local family, FFA, agriculture, and community. ❤️
That is what I love about being a small business owner here. My days aren't always spent behind a desk. I get to be out on farms, support our kids, help families when they need somewhere to turn, stay involved in what is happening in our area, and give back to the same community that continues to support my business.
That's pretty hard to beat. ❤️
Thank you to Page County Farm Bureau for a wonderful evening! https://livesocial.seismic.com/ajF4wL
