[SAVE THIS POST!!] The race to save for a down payment is winnable if you pace yourself!

The finish line is not reaching a specific dollar amount, it's matching the down payment percentage with the correct purchase price.

Down payment options are calculated percentages based on the purchase price and property type.

Depending on the loan program and property type, down payment options typically range between 0% to 25%.

Here is a cheat sheet that will help give you an idea of what you should be saving based on purchase price and down payment percentage.

This DOES NOT include closing cost fees. Closing cost fees are about 2-3.5% of the purchase price and typically depend on the purchase price, location, and when you close. There are several different ways to cover closing costs, so I highly recommend reaching out to your lender to find out what your options are OR send us a message for more details!
