HOW TO COMPLETE A HOME INVENTORY!!
Start your home inventory by making a list of your possessions, describing each item, noting the make and model and where item was purchased if you can remember. This includes clothing, linens, dishware, etc. Keep receipts of all large items, purchase contracts and appraisals if you have them. I know it would be easier to take a video with your phone, which is a great idea and will definitely come in handy, but I encourage you to make a physical inventory as well. (This is also a great way to declutter your space).
Here are a few tips for home inventory organization:
1.) Remember to list larger, big ticket items (jewelry, artwork and collectibles). These items can also be insured separately on your insurance for added protection.
2.) Take pictures of rooms and important individual items.
3.) Video your home by walking from room to room and describing contents - don't forget drawers and closets.
4.) Save your inventory list, including your video (not in your home), in safe deposit box or with a family member.

HERE IS ONE OF MY MOST FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS AS AN AGENT:
What is gap insurance and do I need it?
On most insurance polices, comprehensive and collision coverage ONLY cover the market value of your car, not what you paid for it, and new cars depreciate quickly! If your new car was totaled or stolen, there may be a "gap" between what you owe on the vehicle and your insurance payment. Gap insurance is purchased to cover this difference. Here are a few instances where you might want to purchase "gap" coverage:
Put less than 20% down on purchase
Financed for 60 months or longer
Leased a vehicle (is not included on the lease)
Rolled negative equity from prior car
Also, gap insurance purchased on your auto insurance, through you agent, is usually cheaper than what the dealers charge on your finance or purchase agreement. Please give us a call if you have any questions about this coverage or to add to your existing policy.

Happy New Year to everyone! I know things are still a little scary with the ever growing cases of Covid. We are still taking precautions at the office and seeing customers by appointment ONLY. So please call the office before making a trip in, just to make sure someone is available to see you.
