Hello all who have questions about trees down. Please most importantly be safe ! Call in your claim to the emergency claim call in a s a p . Call a INSURED tree company to come and get the tree off of your property , be it a home , car , fence etc. Take lots of pictures before any work starts. The way Insurance policies handle trees can be confusing. The coverage is different if the tree hits your home vs if it just falls to the ground and just needs to be cut up and cleared away. This is debris removal . Ask your tree person to clearly break down his cost of clearing tree from the home or car and then the cost to just cut up and clean up. If you want to offer the wood to people out there who heat with firewood , that can save you money on the cleanup part of the claim. Lots of people use social media for this .
Also there may be some small coverage for lost refrigerated foods due to power outage so photo and document the food you may loose and have to toss out. Again be safe !
