Cody Rush Assistant Agent at Glenn Cochran State Farm. Husband, father, and military veteran. Serving Montgomery County and surrounding areas.

Cody Rush is a fourth-generation service member and native of Christiansburg. After graduating from Christiansburg High School, he attended Virginia Tech and was a member of the Corps of Cadets. Cody was commissioned as an Active Duty Army Officer in 2011. As a Platoon Leader, he deployed to South Korea and, in 2017, deployed to Iraq to help defeat ISIS. Cody continues to serve in the Army Reserves and lives in Riner with his wife and two children.

I’m excited to announce that I’m pursuing a career with State Farm. I started this journey in November after a sit-down with Glenn Cochran, and he offered me a job in his Christiansburg State Farm Agency. I’m a graduate of Christiansburg High School, the Virginia Tech Corps of Cadets, and served 11 years on Active Duty in the Army. For my entire life, I’ve enjoyed helping others. While it was not the result we wanted, the past ten months have been an incredible experience. I want to thank my wife and children for supporting me. I couldn't do it without you, and I'm so proud to be your husband and father. A campaign takes a lot out on a family, and I look forward to spending some quality time with them. Without the love and guidance of my parents and grandparents, I wouldn't be the man I am today. Thank you for always believing in me. Your lasting impact on this community was apparent in my many conversations on the campaign trail. To all my family, friends, and supporters, I appreciate your love, kindness, prayers, and encouragement. God has a plan, and our faith will get us through. We are blessed to call Montgomery County home, and I will continue to do my part to move our county forward. Thank you!

Abraham Lincoln said, “A nation that does not honor its heroes will not long endure.” As a military veteran, I am proud to live in a community that does just that. Montgomery County annually participates in “Operation Greenlight” and illuminates the county and public safety buildings from now until Veterans Day. Thank you!
