For the last few weeks, Chillicothe State Bank employees traded business attire for denim — all for a meaningful cause. 💙

Employees donated for the opportunity to wear jeans to work, raising $340, and the bank proudly matched their contribution, bringing the total donation to $680 for the American Cancer Society.

Cancer has touched the lives of so many of us, whether through family, friends, coworkers, or loved ones. We’re proud to come together in support of a cause that impacts so many people in our community. Thank you to our employees for helping make a difference.

On Memorial Day, we want to remember and honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our nation. It's a day to reflect on their courage, selflessness, and the true meaning of freedom, which they fought and died to protect. Let us take a moment to appreciate their legacy and the cost of liberty.

🚨 Fraud Alert: Spoofed Phone Calls 🚨

We’ve been made aware of a scam involving fraudulent phone calls that appear to come from our bank’s phone number. This is known as “caller ID spoofing”, and it allows scammers to make it look like they’re calling from a trusted source.

⚠️ Please be cautious:
These callers may try to obtain personal or financial information by pretending to be bank representatives. We will never call and ask for your account number, PIN, or online banking credentials.

If you receive a suspicious call that appears to come from us:
✅ Hang up immediately.
✅ Do not share any personal information.
✅ Call us directly using the phone number on our website or your bank statement to verify.

Please join us in congratulating Lily Worman, recipient of a $500 Missouri Independent Bankers Association scholarship! 🎓

Lily is a teller at Chillicothe State Bank and will graduate from Western Governors University with a degree in finance this summer. Mark Simmer, President, presented Lily with the scholarship on behalf of the Missouri Independent Bankers Association (MIBA).

The MIBA offers member banks the opportunity to assist employees and their dependents in furthering their education, awarding sixteen $500 scholarships across the association’s four membership regions each year.

Congratulations, Lily! We are so proud of your hard work and happy to have you on our team! Be sure to join us in wishing her a big congratulations the next time you visit the bank!

April is Fraud Awareness Month and it’s a great opportunity for State Bank to remind our customers and community about fraud trends and scams.

🚨Please be aware of a rise in scams involving all Digital Wallets (Apple pay, Samsung pay, etc.) 🚨

What to watch out for:

• Calls or texts claiming there is “fraud” on your account
• Requests to add a card to Digital Wallet that you did not initiate
• Being asked for verification codes or personal banking information

Protect Yourself:

• Hang up and call the bank directly using a trusted number
• Never share verification codes or login information
• Do not add cards to your mobile wallet unless you initiated the request
