💙🩵💛 Serve with Comparion 2026 💛🩵💙

I spent yesterday with my favorite volunteer team at the 📍Alianza DV Services shelter for our annual service project. We tidied up the grounds, planted perennials, and mulched the side gardens 🌱. And this year, we also took on a much bigger project—clearing the entire front yard of shrubs and roots 🪏 to make way for a brand-new landscaping design to be installed later this spring (stay tuned for the results 👀)!

Thank you so much to Liberty Mutual Insurance Torchbearers and Comparion Insurance Agency for creating so many opportunities for us to give back to our own communities. ♥️👏

♥️ I had the privilege to be part of the Girls Inc. of the Valley grand opening celebration last week at their newly renovated headquarters in 📍 . Thank you so much to Girls Inc. board member Zydalis Bauer (AKA Mija 💗) for the invitation. And, to the 🤩 AMAZING 🤩 girls who showed us around the beautiful space—thank you for your knowledge, spirit, bravery, and kindness! I truly believe in each one of you and know your futures are so sparkly and bright. ✨

I spent Saturday morning with some faves—Team HB Real Estate and Friends ♥️—at the 2026 🗑️! This was my fifth year taking part in the citywide event hosted by Chicopee Cultural Council, and I’m always so amazed at the difference we make in just a few hours. Many hands make light work 🤝—especially when you’re with the very best peeps! 🥰

My first time volunteering with Alianza DV Services was in 2014 through the program. I joined several of my colleagues on a May morning to clean up the shelter yard and gardens, creating a more peaceful, functional space for the residents. 👩🏻‍🌾🌱🪏

Fast forward to 12 years later, when I reach out to a wonderful landscape architect to help Alianza with a more complicated project — creating a low maintenance, shade-loving front yard that will work with the unique issues of the property. With the (gorgeous! 🤩) design in hand, the focus shifted to figuring out where to find funding.

Last week, I received a perfectly timed email from Liberty Mutual Insurance Torchbearers: I’ve been awarded another mini-grant to present to Alianza — in the exact amount needed to cover the costs of all the shrubs and trees in the design. 🌱🙌

Last week, I attended the Nonprofit Innovators Forum at 📍 Westfield State University with Alianza DV Services Deputy Director Pamela Barnes. We heard from experts on volunteer recruitment and engagement, optimizing social media, revenue diversification, and more. And, we met sooooo many amazing directors and board members from our nonprofit neighbors in the community. 🫶

Thank you so much to the WSU Public Administration, Policy, and Civic Engagement Program for the extraordinary experience — what a gift! ♥️✨

Fill the Food Bank of Western Massachusetts is always one of my favorite events! This year, our six area chambers of commerce showed up with donations of pasta and soup which will be distributed to nearly 200 partner food pantries, meal programs, and shelters. 🤝

Everyone deserves access to the food they need and prefer without barriers or stigma. ♥️
