Fact: For ACA Marketplace plans, coverage often renews, but only if you meet deadlines. For Medicare, you could be auto-re-enrolled, but changes to costs, coverage, or your doctors might leave you underinsured.

Marketplace / ACA Plans
• Nov 1 — Open Enrollment begins
• Dec 15 — Deadline to enroll for coverage starting Jan 1
• Jan 15 — Final day to enroll or make changes for 2025
👉 If you enroll or make changes after Dec 15, your new plan will start Feb 1.

Medicare (Annual Election Period / AEP)
• Oct 15 – Dec 7 — Time to review, switch, or drop Medicare Advantage or Part D plans
• Coverage changes take effect Jan 1st of the next year
