Death can be difficult to talk about—but it doesn’t have to be faced alone.
Join us on September 26 for the Chicago End-of-Life Expo at Sleeping Village! This community event will bring together education, local vendors, interactive art, advance planning resources, and comedy to help demystify the death experience while creating space for connection and laughter.
The event will feature Becky Robison of My Parents Are Dead: What Now?, plus Emmy-nominated comedy writer Alison Zeidman performing her advance-planning show, Ready to Die?
Guests can also explore:
🌱 The Grief Garden
đź’Ś Build a Better Sympathy Card
đź“‹ Advance directive stations
📚 Death-related books curated by Women & Children First
🍹 NA, low-alcohol, beer, wine, and cocktail options
Admission is a suggested $20 donation, but no one will be turned away. Sleeping Village is a 21+ and ADA-accessible venue.
We are also looking for volunteers, vendors, service providers, donors, and sponsors! Priority will be given to BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, disabled, and other marginalized community members.
