E-nano S&P 500 futures let you size positions in $0.25 increments instead of jumping straight to a full Micro E-mini contract. Ten NES contracts equal one MES in notional value, which makes them useful for testing strategies, scaling in and out, and hedging smaller accounts.

E-mini, Micro E-mini, and E-nano futures track the same index, but each step-down cuts contract size by a factor of ten. On the S&P 500, that's a $50, $5, and $0.50 multiplier, or roughly $350,000, $35,000, and $3,500 of notional exposure at a 7,000-index level.

CME Group is set to launch E-nano futures on August 24, 2026, its smallest equity-index contracts yet, one-tenth the size of a Micro E-mini and one-hundredth the size of an E-mini.

They cover the S&P 500, Nasdaq-100, Russell 2000, and Dow Jones, with nearly 23-hour trading and offsets against Micro and E-mini positions.

CME Group is launching E-nano equity index futures on August 24 (pending regulatory review), one-tenth the size of Micro E-minis and one-hundredth the size of standard E-minis.

The E-nano S&P 500 carries a $0.50 multiplier versus $5 for the Micro and $50 for the full E-mini. That's roughly $3,500-$4,000 notional exposure instead of $35,000-plus on a Micro at current index levels.

At launch, four contracts:
E-nano S&P 500 (NES)
E-nano Nasdaq-100 (NNQ)
E-nano Russell 2000 (N2K)
E-nano Dow Jones (NDOW)

NES, NNQ, and N2K list under CME rules; NDOW lists under CBOT rules. All four trade nearly 23 hours a day, with the nearest two quarterly contract months live once trading starts.

What does a "round turn" actually cost you in futures trading, and are you calculating it correctly?

Round turn cost covers the full cycle of a futures trade including things like: commissions, exchange fees, and NFA fees. Getting this number right matters because it directly impacts your breakeven point and overall profitability, especially if you're trading frequently or scalping smaller moves.

Our latest blog breaks down exactly what goes into round turn cost and walks through how to calculate it for your own trading strategy.
