Tea, treats & great company! 🫖✨

Some of our team members gathered for Afternoon Tea at Deer Path Inn in Lake Forest last week. Delicious food, beautiful surroundings, and — most importantly — lots of great conversation and laughs.

Always nice to make a little time for team connection!

🏠 Buying property isn’t just a financial transaction—it's a legal puzzle.

If you aren't actively coordinating your real estate purchases with your asset protection and estate plans, you might be accidentally building a trap door into your wealth.

A single overlooked detail can completely undo your hard work. Here is what is silently at stake:
⚠️ Negating asset protection benefits you think you have.
⚠️ Triggering unnecessary, costly estate and property taxes.
⚠️ Forcing your heirs into months of stressful, expensive probate.

Every state has unique rules. What works for an LLC or Trust in one state can completely backfire in another, especially if you face looming estate tax issues.

Your wealth is a masterpiece. Don't let an uncoordinated property purchase ruin the canvas.
We are here to help you sync your strategy, protect your biggest assets, and secure your legacy. Reach out today to ensure your next move is fully protected.

Planning for the future means preparing not only for the milestones we look forward to, but also for some of life’s most difficult decisions.

Beginning September 12, 2026, a new Illinois law will expand end-of-life options for qualifying terminally ill adults. Known as Deb’s Law, the Medical Aid in Dying law allows eligible patients with a terminal illness and a prognosis of six months or less to request medication to peacefully end their lives on their own terms, following a detailed process with multiple safeguards in place.

Regardless of personal views on this deeply sensitive issue, the new law is an important reminder of the value of having conversations about your wishes before they are needed.

That can include discussing your preferences with loved ones, reviewing your healthcare power of attorney and advance directives, and making sure the people you trust understand what matters most to you.

These conversations are never easy—but thoughtful planning can provide greater clarity for you and the people you love.

At just 14 years old, Sophia Sun turned a deeply personal experience into a mission to help others.

After watching five close family members face cancer — and sadly losing three of them — Sophia saw firsthand that the challenges of cancer extend far beyond physical health. She noticed an especially important gap: while seniors are among those most likely to face a cancer diagnosis, they can also experience profound loneliness and a lack of emotional support throughout treatment.

That realization inspired Sophia to found the Seniors Cancer Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to making cancer a little less lonely for older adults.
Through cards, gift baskets, meaningful connections and other patient-centered initiatives, Sophia and the foundation's volunteers work to remind seniors facing cancer that they are seen, remembered, and supported.

What makes her story even more remarkable is the community she has built around that mission. The organization has engaged more than 1,000 student volunteers and developed partnerships with hospitals, nonprofits, and organizations throughout the Chicago area!

We are incredibly inspired by Sophia — not only for what she has accomplished at such a young age, but for recognizing a need in her community and having the courage and compassion to act on it.

A wonderful reminder that you are never too young to make a meaningful difference in someone else's life.
