If you're trying to get better with money and avoid buyer's remorse later, here's the game plan I use.

First: budget. Figure out how much you need to spend and how to spend it wisely.

Second: wait. Whenever you're about to make a purchase, take at least 72 hours to cool off and think about it. Buying impulsively can lead to a lot of disappointment in the future.

Third: know why. Ask yourself why you really want it. If the answer isn't something substantial, then you should not make the purchase.

Fourth: calculate. Do the math. Consider how many hours you need to work to buy it.

At the end of the day, it isn't necessarily the cost of the item that will make you regret buying it - it's the cost of not doing your due diligence. Practicing mindful budgeting helps you avoid buyer's remorse and can seriously benefit you in the long run.

Once you've got a budget and a purchasing plan, don't get too caught up in your own purchasing power. Haste can easily end up costing you more in the long run, so take it slow and be mindful of your decisions. #2024
