Venture Forward Capital is led by serial entrepreneurs investing in repeat founders with proven exits focusing on AI-driven solutions to drive efficiency and scale. From news companies to finance to marketing to publishing, he accumulated lots of experience in a variety of industries, but it gave him a taste for something different. After years of business travel and more than a few lunches and di

nners in sushi restaurants, he developed a fascination with Japanese cuisine. Mike moved back to Chicago, partnered with a friend who was a chef and opened a sushi restaurant of his own, with no experience. Learning about the hospitality industry on-the-fly, Mike built Union Sushi into a major success, and eventually leveraged that growth to open two more restaurants in Chicago. Through his career experience and building multiple brands from the ground-up, Mike has led all aspects of operations and touched all departments of business.
