A life lesson I WISH I taught when I was a teacher. 📚👇

Back in my classroom days, I was all about the lessons that actually mattered outside of school. One of my favorites? Teaching the guys how to properly shake hands when picking up their date for homecoming.

🚨 PSA for every homebuyer: You (probably) have to be at your closing.

But there IS a legal way around it, a Power of Attorney (POA). 📝

Here’s what qualifies:
✅ Jury duty
✅ Verified work conflict
✅ Medical emergency

Here’s what doesn’t:
❌ “I have to meet the movers”
❌ “I’ve got better things to do”

If you genuinely can’t make it, loop in your loan officer and attorney early, they’ll walk you through signing the POA paperwork in advance so closing still happens on time. 🏡

🏡 Attention Cook County homeowners, your tax bills just dropped, and your escrow account has you covered, hopefully.

Yes, escrow is designed to handle your property taxes automatically. But when those Cook County tax bills come out and the amounts go UP, that increase flows directly into your escrow. That means your monthly mortgage payment is about to change too.

Here’s what I want you to do RIGHT NOW:
