What a day. 🙌
Last week, OCC came together for our semiannual company town hall — and it was one for the books.
We had the privilege of hearing from keynote speaker DeDe Halfhill, retired U.S. Air Force Colonel, whose career is nothing short of extraordinary. DeDe spent 25 years advising the Secretary of Defense and the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs, commanded 1,200 people on a 365-day combat tour in Iraq sustaining 18,000 warfighters, and led 1,800 personnel at a nuclear-capable bomber base she drove to the #1 installation in the entire Air Force.
Her message was both a challenge and a reframe: courage isn't reserved for extraordinary moments — it's a daily habit. And at the heart of it? Empathy. She pushed us to rethink what it means to lead, showing that the most courageous leaders are the ones who build trust by truly seeing and understanding the people around them. 💪
We also heard from colleagues across the organization about how they're stepping up and taking on leadership in their everyday work — a powerful reminder that leadership happens at every level.
