Small business branding works when your offer is clear first. If you can't explain it simply, your elevator pitch or one-liner still needs work. Clear beats clever every time, and a simple explanation shows you've done the hard thinking.

The first rule about money is to never spend all of it! 🛑💸

I constantly emphasize how important it is to have some reserves. I am dealing with clients right now who have completely maxed out all of their credit cards on both the personal and the business side. We have had to reverse engineer absolutely everything just to pull them out of that maxed-out credit situation, and even after making progress, they still have to figure out how to pay off the other half. How does this even happen in the first place? It is because they lack reserves.

Here is the real logic about all of that: if we get you $100,000 in funding, your personal income should be able to cover at least 10% of whatever you are prepared to invest using other people's money. You must be able to keep up in the absolute worst-case scenario.

This is my PSA to all the people terrified because they "have to pay it back". Sure, you pay it back, but you use that $100,000 runway cushion to actually get rich first. 📈

Not all money is good money! 🛑💸

An affiliate's client is trying to get access to funding through my business, and even though I already got him a straight $100,000 in less than two weeks, he suddenly has an issue with me on Zoom and only wants to deal with the affiliate. He wants my resources, but he doesn't want to speak to the man because he complains that Tai is always busy.

Well guess what? You can go somewhere else because we are not doing things your way. I am not just busy, I am productive, and you better value my time. When we hop on Zoom and you see me getting calls, that should tell you that I am in demand.

My affiliate keeps asking to just run his application because his credit is good, but I refuse to run any type of apps without putting my own eyes on a report first. If there is a fraud alert or an account is frozen, it is going to make us look stupid. Why would I do business with somebody that doesn't even like me when they might just try to backdoor me? It is weird and awkward, but you always have to stick to the script. Not all money is good money, so no thank you, we are good. 📈

Stop letting clients run your business calls! 🛑📞

You have to completely train your clients how to do business with you, not the other way around. As you mature in business, you sometimes have to politely pause people and ask what exactly they wanted to get out of the call. You must ask them what motivated them to make the call in the first place and always start directly with their goal.

If they start rambling, you have to immediately bring them back to reality. After they tell you the bigger picture, let them know you can absolutely help them, but it starts with taking step one. You then have to ask if they are actually willing to take that first step.

If they start rambling again with all sorts of different reasons why they don't want to take step one, you have to hold your ground. We have an SOP for a reason. We will only give you special treatment after you have successfully become our client. 📈

Stop letting bad clients hold onto their stress! 🛑📱

There is nothing worse than having bad clients waking you up with text messages just to remind you exactly how much they paid. They have absolutely zero patience and lack any basic etiquette. The craziest part is that these same clients end up getting great results, and the moment they do, they go completely quiet and you don't hear a word from them. At that point, you have to blow up their phone just to get a testimonial!

I have realized that most of the people who actually give you good and great reviews are the exact same clients who were good all along. The reality is that some people simply thrive in a state of panic and live entirely in that stress. They hold onto it because they wouldn't even know what to do without their stress, and their whole business is basically just called stressful. 📈

Stop letting your money sit and lose value! 🛑💸

One of the absolute best businesses to invest in is your own mind. Once you start investing in your mind, you get into the rooms where you have access to a whole other realm of people who are highly successful in their industry. You finally get to pick the fastest and most cost-effective investments that bring in higher revenue, allowing you to continually reinvest that money into the future.

It is a game that never stops, but you must adopt the mindset that money is not just to pay bills. Money is absolutely not meant to just stay sitting in your bank account. People get so addicted to wanting to see $100,000 or $500,000 sitting there, but the moment it stays in your account, it is actively losing value.
