About Ann Marie

Ann Marie Etergino, the leader and founder of The Etergino Group, provides clients with holistic wealth management solutions that help them secure the lives they wish to lead. Drawing on deep industry knowledge gained from 35 years in the business, she works with clients to address their most fundamental concerns and align their money with their life goals. She is known for the long-term, comprehensive approach she takes, and she is especially adept at handling clients’ multifaceted, complex financial needs as well as being particularly sensitive to issues women frequently face. (She is also a trusted advisor to foundations, endowments, and institutional clients.) Her commitment to delivering first-class service and strong track record have earned her numerous accolades, including Barron’s Top 100 Women Financial Advisors, Barron’s Top 1200 Financial Advisors, Financial Times’ Top 100 Women Financial Advisors, Financial Times’ Top 400 Financial Advisors, Forbes’ Top Women Advisors, and Washingtonian’s Top Money Advisors. She has also been featured on the cover of Barron’s and profiled in Barron’s “Best Advice” column.

She began her career in 1982 at Merrill Lynch. She joined Tucker Anthony in 1984 and served on its board of directors from 1998 until 2001, when it was acquired by RBC. She holds a Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA) certification from Wharton, has an Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF) designation, and is a member of the Investment Management Consultants Association (IMCA). She earned her undergraduate degree from Lafayette College.

Outside of the office, Ann Marie is actively involved in philanthropic work, focusing on causes that support the needs of women and children. She serves on the boards of Women for Women International, a non-profit that supports the most marginalized women in countries affected by conflict and war, and Collegiate Directions, a non-profit that helps low-income, first-generation students from the Washington area apply to, attend, and succeed in college. She also serves on the Investment Committee of the National Cathedral School for Girls. In addition, she mentors high school and college students on financial literacy. Meeting with small groups on a quarterly basis, she advises these students on the basics of investing, saving, budgeting, using debt wisely, and living within their means.
