The debt keeping you up at night might not be the one you think.
We surveyed 1,377 Americans about how their debts affect their sleep. The findings were not what we expected.
— Mortgages were the most disruptive (3.24 out of five)
— Overdrafts and bank fees came second (3.16)
— Smaller debts under $5,000 disrupted sleep every night for 56.9% of respondents
— Debts over $1 million disrupted nightly sleep for just 0.9%
The takeaway: it isn't the size of the debt. It's the weight of it.
