In 2018, a hurricane destroyed much of Mexico Beach. Except for one house, built with concrete, rebar, and a wind-resistant roof. It survived, standing alone in a sea of rubble.

The damage went deeper than property:
📉 3 years of near-zero commercial activity
🧳 Roughly 300 residents moved away
🏗️ Rebuilding continues to this day

That lone surviving house is a reminder that the right preventive measures today can save lives and protect communities from future disasters.
