Scammers can use Caller ID spoofing to make a call appear to come from a legitimate local business, organization, or other trusted source.

They may claim there's an urgent problem that requires immediate action. Remember: urgency is often used to pressure you into acting before you have time to verify what's happening.

If you receive a suspicious call:

🛑 STOP - Don't let urgency pressure you into taking immediate action.
📵 HANG UP - End the suspicious call.
🔐 DON'T SHARE - Never provide passwords, verification codes, payment information, or sensitive personal information.
☎️ VERIFY - Independently look up the organization's legitimate phone number and contact them directly.

Don't automatically call back the number provided by the caller. Verify the number through a source you trust.

Taking an extra moment to stop, hang up, and verify could help protect your personal and financial information.

🚨 FRAUD WARNING: DON'T TRUST CALLER ID ALONE 🚨

Scammers can spoof legitimate business phone numbers, making it appear that a trusted local business or organization is calling you.

They may create a sense of urgency by claiming there's a problem with an account, payment, purchase, service, or other transaction. Their goal may be to convince you to share sensitive information, send money, or take an action you normally wouldn’t.

If you receive a suspicious call:

📞 Hang up immediately.
🔒 Do not share passwords, verification codes, financial information, or other sensitive information.
☎️ Look up the business's legitimate phone number yourself and contact the business directly.

Even if the Caller ID displays the name and phone number of a business you recognize, stop and verify before providing information or taking action.

Help protect others by sharing this warning with your friends, family, coworkers, and customers.
