ACA affordability is changing for 2027.

The IRS has announced that the ACA affordability indexed amount will increase to 10.22% for plan years beginning in 2027, up from 9.96% in 2026.

📌 2026 PCORI Fee Filing Reminder

Employers sponsoring self-funded medical plans and certain HRAs should prepare for the July 31, 2026 filing deadline for plan years ending in 2025.

Applicable fee rates are:

• $3.47 per covered life for plan years ending January 31 through September 30, 2025
• $3.84 per covered life for plan years ending October 31 through December 31, 2025

Employers should use the second-quarter IRS Form 720 and report the fee in Part II. The employer or its accountant is responsible for preparing and paying the fee. For fully insured plans, the insurance carrier is responsible.
