Learn to prepare taxes and make a difference in your community at the same time by volunteering with the Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program.

You will receive training to provide free tax help for low-to-moderate income families who need assistance preparing their tax returns.

Training is offered both online and in the classroom. Tax sites are generally open nights and weekends and the hours are flexible.

Low-income households in Chelsea can apply to receive a FREE AC unit!
The application deadline is Friday, July 29 at noon.

Applications Now Open for the AC Units Program

The program is open to all income-eligible Chelsea residents who meet the program's criteria, regardless of their immigration status. The application deadline is noon on July 29, 2022.

Paper applications are available to pick up at the entrance of City Hall during business hours. Applicants should complete the application form in hard copy and return it to Chelsea City Hall, Housing & Community Development, Room 101, Chelsea, MA 02150, or you can access the digital applications through the following links:
