Please be sure if you are downstream of the Cheboygan Dam that you have your evacuation bag ready to go and have a plan.
There is a map out showing the excepted area to flood. If you are outside of the green you should still prepare if you are downstream. There are many things that can change where flood water will go.
Include in your emergency bag:
Medications
contacts
important papers (place in sealed plastic bag)
Clothing
Baby supplies, diapers wipes, formula
Animal supplies (leashes and food)
Have a plan - route to get to higher ground and where you are going
Check with your neighbors and elderly or disabled to see if you can help them
Anything that you can raise in your home to a higher elevation to try and keep dry, put things up.

Be proactive and be ready so you don’t have to react as that causes panic. Talk to your kids and let them know the plan so they know what they are supposed to do.
