The America and Me Essay Contest is Farm Bureau's oldest public relations program, dating back to 1968. The essay contest is open to eighth graders throughout Michigan and asks students to tell us who their personal Michigan hero is. Approximately 400 schools and thousands of students participate each year. The essays are submitted to the Farm Bureau home office where volunteers read them and select a first, second and third place winner from each school. Here are the winners from Cheboygan.
