IN CASE YOU MISSED IT:

Tennessee has some new laws effective 2027 that have significant changes in how you are able to tag and insure your vehicle.

Here are some highlights to be aware of:

* Beginning in 2027 you will need to present a Tennessee driver's license to obtain a NEW license plate for your vehicle. You will NOT need one to RENEW a tag so if this could cause issues for you get your new tags before the end of 2026!

* You will ALSO need to show proof of valid insurance on the vehicle to obtain a tag so make sure you give us a call and get the best rates on your new policy before going!

* Finally, fines for not having an insured vehicle are increasing! The state monitors your insurance through your tag. If you go uninsured you will receive fines in the mail. Beginning in 2027 the first offense raises from $25 to $500. Second offense raises to $1000 and repeat offenses raises to $1500.

Most available policies at Ramsey Family Insurance are cheaper than the fines! Pay for something that protects you and don't get fined!
