🇺🇸 82 years ago today, thousands of young Americans stepped into the cold waters of Normandy knowing they might never see home again.
Some would never hold their wives again.
Some would never meet the children they dreamed of having.
Some would never grow old.
Yet they went anyway.
They left the safety of home and walked directly into danger so future generations could live in freedom.
As we remember D-Day, let us remember that these were not just soldiers.
They were sons.
They were brothers.
They were fathers.
They were ordinary people who answered an extraordinary call.
Many never made it back.
Many rest beneath white crosses far from home.
But their courage still echoes through history.
Today, may we pause to honor every life given on those shores and every family that carried that loss forever.
May God bless the brave men who fought.
May God comfort the families who sacrificed so much.
And may we never forget that freedom has always come at a price.
We remember.
We honor.
We are forever grateful. 🇺🇸🙏
