Woody's Senior Health Solutions Doing Medicare Through the Eyes of Ministry

"Doing Medicare through the eyes of Ministry"
That has been my goal since I helped the first person. I always want each individual to get the very best that they can and I always pray for them. It kills me a little inside if I miss something so I try a little harder.
With all the new changes, especially with prescriptions, if you have questions or need a review during this Annual Enrollment, I will do my best to answer your questions and guide you towards your best solution.
Reach out through PM or if you don't know my number then call Medicare Misty's office and ask for me. 423-556-6055

Attention everyone in Signal Mountain, Walden, Fairmount, Lone Oak and beyond. The Medicare Annual Enrollment Period is quickly approaching and those who do Medicare cannot officially talk about the changes until October 1 in preparation for the enrollment period of October 15th - December 7th.
So, October 1 at 7:00 PM, you will have your first chance to hear the changes and ask questions early enough to make decisions by October 15th.
It will be in the fellowship hall at Mount Carmel Baptist Church, 86 US Taft Hwy, Signal Mountain.
This is a free event with absolutely no obligation. It is a community event.
Contact me, Garry "Woody" Woodside or the MedicareMisty offices, (423) 240-0794, with any questions. My office is at 5630 Hwy 153, Hixson, TN.

More and more people turning 65 are not aware of what they must do and their options.
1. 3 months before your birth month (birth month May, start February) call the Social Security office (recommended) or go online to SSA.gov and apply for your Medicare. Part A used to be automatic but we are not finding that to be true anymore.
2. If you are going to continue working and staying on your employers health insurance you will need to only apply for A (zero cost) Because you have credible coverage there will be no penalty when you get ready to retire.
3. If not working or using your employers health insurance, apply for both Medicare Part A and B. Sometimes the Medicare route can be less expensive and better coverage than many company health insurance plans.
4. If your company has an HSA plan that you wish to participate in once Medicare age you will want to forgo getting Part A. Once on A and/or B you can no longer put into an HSA. You can withdraw what you have in it but can no longer add to it.
5. Expect getting your Medicare number 4 to 6 weeks after you have applied (sometimes sooner). You can meet with an independent Medicare broker before this time (especially if you are needing help with 1 through 4) but after you receive your number is when you can finalize your health care decisions.
6. If not on a drug plan with your employer, VA, etc., to avoid a penalty, you will need to sign up for a drug plan, Part D. You can get that through a Medicare broker.
7. A good independent Medicare broker will listen to you, check your medications and doctors, and guide you to a plan that gives you the greatest peace of mind. They will openly give you the pros and cons of the different options.

Why an independent Medicare broker? They will usually have many options to choose from instead of just what one company offers. If you choose one in your local area they will know more about what works best in that region. If you are receiving phone calls for Medicare that you did not ask to call you it will be best not to engage them and definitely don't give them any of your information. They prey on the elderly and mess them up with no regard to what is best.

Contact me, Garry Woodside "Woody" when you have questions or need any help. There is no cost for our services.

I really enjoy networking with like minded individuals. Would like to know if there are any groups that you can recommend that meet what I'm looking for or maybe PM me if you would be interested in starting such a group if there is not one.
1. Each person puts God first in their life and profession.
2. The group has a time of scripture, prayer and encouragement.
3. Actively promotes the business of those in the group with referrals and introductions.
4. Has a spirit of accountability but not judgement.
5. Preferably each person is active in a local church.
6. A desire to see each person grow in their business and spiritual life, thinking of others above themselves, celebrating each success and walking with each other through the valleys of life.
7. The professions need not be just that of sales but also leaders in fields of caregiving, ministry, etc.
Any groups like this around the Chattanooga area?

It doesn't have to be this confusing. PM me or give me a call with your questions. It would be great if there was a one plan fits all but there is not. By doing a review you can find your best choices. What is right for one person may not be right for you. Find out for yourself. (and stop answering the Medicare calls, calling the Medicare numbers on TV and especially stop watching all the YouTube videos).

In 1984 I was attending a 4th of July Freedom conference at the Presidential Hilton in Washington D.C. One of the speakers shared some words that changed how I view many of the holidays especially this one.
"Those who signed the Declaration of Independence, those who served this country, those who died for our futures freedom, did not do it so we could take a day off, BBQ, go to the lake or beach and fire off fireworks. They did it so we could be free from tyranny, have the freedom to worship and have the freedom to strive towards our American dream". There was more to it than that but since that day I have never minded having to work or worship on those holidays. It is one of those freedoms that they provided. I thank God for the foundation that was laid for this country and honor those that served and gave their lives that this freedom might continue.

Nothing else like a small town and people who think outside the box. I first saw the doorknob to open the gas door but then noticed the mounted dog hooked to a small water pump.

I will be at the Piggly Wiggly here in Pikeville every Friday from 11 to 4/5:00 CST. I enjoy doing what I can for this community. My hope is that things will go well enough where I need to find a place to share an office one or two days a week so that no one has to speak to a faceless agent over the phone or have to travel a great distance to get their questions answered.
Hoping for the same thing in Decatur and Dunlap TN. Currently at the Piggly Wiggly in Decatur on Tuesdays also from 11 to 4/5 EST.

At yet another Pig. I enjoy serving the small and many times, underserved communities. The white board on my table simply says, "Ask Your Question!". That's what I'm here for but some have fun with it and ask funny questions that have nothing at all to do with Medicare. That really opens the door for me to get to know the people in the area. Years ago my parents would visit their friends the Denny's who owned a florist here is Pikeville. People still remember them and love to share their memories.
I will be here every Friday afternoon for the next several weeks.
And for everyone, ASK YOUR QUESTION!
