Kids grow up fast. But there's one milestone parents shouldn't rush: graduating from a booster seat.

New data shows 86.5% of children evaluated during car seat inspections in 2025 had transitioned to an adult seat belt too soon. AAA's latest analysis also found a steep drop in child safety and booster seat use as children get older.

During Baby Safety Month, we're reminding parents: if an adult seat belt doesn't fit correctly, your child still needs a booster. It's okay to let them stay little a little while longer.

Learn more about choosing the right seat at every stage.
