For John and Laura, the decision to move to a continuing care retirement community was very intentional. They knew waiting too long carried risk and made the decision while they could fully think it through and choose what felt right. The Lifecare model stood out immediately, it offered a level of stability that made sense for how they were thinking about the future.

What an inspiring day at our Non‑Profit Fair! Residents enjoyed meeting 15 local organizations doing incredible work in our region and discovering new ways to volunteer, support, and engage.

Non‑profit partners also had the chance to share their missions and connect with residents interested in deeper involvement.

Events like this remind us how powerful community can be when we come together to learn, connect, and make a difference.

On April 10, a team of Westminster-Canterbury of the Blue Ridge (WCBR) associates and residents joined with other volunteers to support construction of one of five new affordable homes at the Habitat for Humanity Southwood development in Albemarle County.

The residents of WCBR honored the life and legacy of longtime resident Isabelle Halley des Fontaines by joining together as sponsors of the 2026 Women Build program at Habitat for Humanity of Greater Charlottesville. The sponsorship reflects the residents’ commitment to mixed income affordable housing and the benefits it brings to the social fabric of the Charlottesville community.
