PATH has received funding that will significantly expand assistance to eligible residents with transportation needs throughout Charlottesville and the counties of Albemarle, Fluvanna, Greene, Louisa, and Nelson. Eligible applicants include adults age 65 and older and people with disabilities who meet income guidelines and lack another suitable transportation option.

Congratulations to Our Lady of Peace Retirement Community for their Groundbreaking Ceremony commemorating their expansion! It’s hard to believe we’re coming up on the first anniversary of Memory Cafe at The Center!

This monthly gathering for people living with dementia and their caregivers has quickly become one of our favorite programs to offer.

Dementia can be a horribly isolating experience for the person living with it and for their loved ones.

Memory cafes are unique in providing an opportunity for both the patient and their loved one to have positive social time together. We snack, we sing, we chat with new friends — and no one is bothered by someone repeating themselves, losing their words, or being a little loud.

We’re so grateful to the friends who come and allow us to share in warm, tender, and fun moments at Memory Cafe!
