Fire Prevention Week Tip #6: Recycle, don't trash. ♻️

Old phones, laptops and batteries don't belong in your trash can or recycling bin. Damaged batteries can spark fires in garbage trucks and landfills. Take them to a battery recycling drop-off instead. Many home improvement and electronics stores have one.

Fire Prevention Week Tip #5: Big batteries need extra care. 🛴

E-bikes, e-scooters and power tools have larger batteries that store more energy, and fires from them can spread quickly. When you can, charge them outdoors and away from doors and exits, so a problem never blocks your way out.

Fire Prevention Week Tip #4: Know the warning signs. ⚠️

Stop using a device right away if its battery:
🔥 Gets unusually hot
🔥 Swells or bulges
🔥 Gives off smoke
🔥 Has a strange smell

Those are signs the battery is failing. Don't keep charging it. Replace it.

What a great time at InsurExpo 2026 in Winston-Salem! 🎉

Trey O'Connor, Kimberly Fox and I spent September 17-18 at IIANC's premier event, and the networking was fantastic.

My favorite speaker was Byron Reese. His take on AI and the positive impact it will have on humanity was fascinating.

A big thank you to our partners at BT Core (for hosting us for dinner and live music. I was having so much fun I didn't take many pictures! 📸
