✨ Celebrating Myself and All the Incredible Teachers in North Carolina! 🎉✨
For 21 years, I’ve dedicated my life to nurturing children and striving to create a better world through education. With a master’s degree, I have been honored as a two-time Teacher of the Year and recognized as the CTE Teacher of the Year. I’ve coached and taught at every grade level, carrying on the legacy of my parents who were also educators. Yet, I feel uncelebrated by the recent salary proposals from our state legislature. The current proposals mean that after 30 years of hard work and commitment, I will only make $5,000 more than a first-year teacher.
Right now, North Carolina ranks 46th in the nation for teacher pay and a dismal 51st for student funding. I’m deeply disappointed that I feel like I’m being pushed out of a profession that I love and excel in. Instead of waiting for recognition, I’m choosing to celebrate myself and my passion for teaching.
To all my fellow educators out there – let’s continue to support one another and advocate for the value of our profession! We are making a difference every single day. 💪❤️ .
✨ Teachers, I invite you to join in and celebrate yourselves! Make your own video and share your story, because you’ve earned it! Tag a teacher you respect and love ❤️ Let’s lift each other up and show the world the incredible work we do. Together, we can advocate for the value of our profession and make our voices heard! 💪❤️
