If your loan officer keeps asking for documents, it isn't because something is wrong. Every request is building the file that gets you to closing.

- Paystubs and W-2s. Confirms the income used to qualify you.
- Bank statements. Confirms the funds are yours and available.
- A letter about a deposit. Documents where money came from, so it isn't a question later.
- The same thing, again. Files may be re-verified closer to closing, so recent paperwork matters.

The fastest closings are usually the ones where documents come back quickly. Send what you can early and the file keeps moving.

Applied for a mortgage? The loan isn't done when you get approved. A few changes during processing can complicate a file that was on track:

Don't change jobs. Employment may be re-verified before closing.

Don't open new credit. A new card or car loan may change the picture.

Don't make large deposits you can't explain. Large deposits may need documentation.

Don't co-sign for anyone. It may become your obligation too.

Don't move money between accounts. Even your own money may need documentation.

None of this means you can't do these things. It means talk to your Mortgage Loan Officer first, so it can be handled before it becomes a problem.
