New South Wealth Management Proudly Sponsors Financial Futures: Personal Finance Case Competition at Rutgers University

SHORT HILLS, NJ — October 2026 — New South Wealth Management is proud to announce its presenting sponsorship of the Financial Futures: Personal Finance Case Competition, a landmark partnership with the Rutgers Personal Finance Club at Rutgers University. Launching on October 13th, with the live competition taking place on December 3rd, Financial Futures represents one of the most immersive student financial planning experiences in the region — and a powerful statement about what the next generation of financial professionals is capable of.

The competition challenges student teams to do exactly what professional wealth managers do every day: take a real person's life — their income, their goals, their family, their fears — and build a financial plan that actually works for them. Teams will receive detailed hypothetical client profiles spanning a range of life stages and financial circumstances, then develop comprehensive strategies covering retirement planning, portfolio construction, debt management, and major life goals.

"The best investment we can make is in people. Financial Futures gives students the chance to sit where we sit — to think the way a trusted advisor thinks — and that is something we believe in deeply."
— Joseph Milano, ChFC, CLU · Managing Partner, New South Wealth Management

Finalist teams will present and defend their strategies before a live judging panel that includes New South Wealth Management professionals — earning real feedback from advisors who have built careers on exactly the skills this competition is designed to develop. Winners will receive prizes including cash awards, mentoring sessions, resume reviews, and exclusive networking opportunities with NSWM professionals.

The competition is open to Rutgers students of all majors and experience levels. No prior wealth management background is required — only curiosity, commitment, and a willingness to think deeply about what it means to guide someone toward their financial future.
