People want convenience and speed, but they also expect highly personalized customer experience. “ - Eddie Brown He has been involved in many aspects of the business. Serving as both Chief Executive Officer and Vice President to world class mortgage companies. Eddie is passionate about driving innovation, developing more efficient lending processes and transforming the direct-to-consumer mortgage

model. With the introduction of FinTech mortgage processes online, and an old guard of customer service focused professionals, there’s an opportunity for the right combination of both to take a foothold in the market. He will bring his team into that gap and plant their flag there. Today, Eddie is applying his years of valuable experience in consumer financial services at Villa Home Loans. He strives to create the most streamlined process by removing the barriers for the online customer experience.

When asked why do you care?
“People who don’t care will take the same route as Blockbuster & Toys R Us. Shut down and forgotten. No one and no business can rest on their past success-the market is always changing. It’s my duty to my family and my team to be on the forefront of change.”

When he isn’t challenging the status quo in the mortgage industry, he’s likely golfing, spending time with his wife and family, serving his community or relaxing in the Blue Ridge mountains.

Tuesday food for thought

Your attitude directly influences your altitude. Just as an airplane's attitude indicator reveals whether it is climbing, leveling off, or descending, people possess a similar internal gauge.

If you find yourself constantly complaining, resisting opportunities, and placing blame on others, your attitude may be dragging you down. No one is eager to invest in someone stuck in a downward spiral.

Those who attract opportunities, forge connections, and achieve success are the ones who approach life with energy, humility, and a genuine desire to grow. If you’re not ascending, it’s time to examine your attitude indicator.

Today's takeaway: Your attitude shapes your trajectory in life. A positive, growth-oriented mindset attracts opportunities and fosters connections, while negativity can hold you back. Reflect on your attitude and adjust your internal gauge to ensure you're on an upward path to success.

Wednesday food for thought

On this Thanksgiving Eve, let’s take a moment for an eye-opening mentor chat. It’s a reminder of just how wealthy we truly are and what we need to acknowledge. I am deeply grateful for my wife, my children, my family, and my close friends. I appreciate my amazing work team for their belief in me, my good health, and the fact that, at 51, I remain active and able to pursue all the things I love. I am also thankful for my country and the opportunities I have to continue learning.

There are so many reasons to be grateful. Happy Thanksgiving to our entire team, including all the members of our operations team, who help us do our jobs every day. We are more affluent than we often realize. If you are surrounded by loved ones, wake up each morning, and take a moment daily to recognize our true abundance, you will see just how wealthy you are.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Team,

For the few who read this and pay attention. It's 5:25am... Do your expectations match your commitment?

Today, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on the essence of our journey towards success and growth as a team. Each day, we are presented with countless opportunities to make choices that will shape our lives and the future of our sales endeavors. It is through our unwavering commitment, dedication, drive, and consistent action that we can achieve everything we desire.

As individuals and as a collective, we strive to be better today than we were yesterday, and even better tomorrow than we are today. This mindset of continuous improvement is what sets us apart and propels us towards greatness. We understand that success is not a destination but a journey, and it is the small steps taken every day that pave the way for significant achievements.

Let us remember that our choices matter. Each decision we make, whether it be in our approach to sales, our interactions with clients, or our daily routines, has the power to shape our outcomes. By consciously choosing to bring our best selves to the table, we lay the foundation for success and create a positive impact on our customers' lives.

In the face of challenges and obstacles, let us remain steadfast in our commitment to excellence. Let us take calculated risks, embrace innovation, and continually push ourselves to go beyond our limits. Together, we have the power to achieve remarkable results and surpass our own expectations.

I am incredibly proud to be a part of this team, and I have no doubt that each and every one of you has the potential to achieve greatness. Remember, it is our choices, commitment, dedication, drive, and consistent action that will lead us to the success we aspire to.

Thank you for your unwavering dedication and for embodying the spirit of continuous growth. Let us continue to support and uplift one another as we strive for excellence.

Wishing you all a productive and successful day!

Food for Thought on Developing Sales Staff

It's disheartening to hear this comment repeatedly: managers would rather recruit top producers than invest in developing their own sales staff who have the potential to become top producers themselves.

I understand the rationale behind this preference. Developing sales personnel requires investment, time, and commitment. However, recruiting a top producer also demands these resources. The difference lies in the fact that your existing staff already understands your culture and processes, while external recruits do not. In reality, instead of acquiring top producer talent, lenders often end up recruiting "C" players who are likely to be mediocre at best.

Consider the loan officer productivity data published by InGenius for October. It reveals that 88% of loan officers produce less than 2 units per month, and 67% produce less than one unit per month. Investing in the development of existing employees could provide a better return on investment than recruiting new talent. This investment goes beyond providing tools; it involves teaching them effective prospecting and business development techniques in the modern world of loan generation. The financial and productivity gains from this investment will far surpass the allure of a six-figure sign-up bonus. Let's be smarter about how we believe our revenues grow and not overlook our own employees. Let's develop them!

"Unlocking Success: The Power of One-on-One's”

This week I have been doing one on ones and I have to say there are many benefits to having one-on-one talk time with team members. Here are a few reasons why it is valuable:

1. Building relationships: One-on-one conversations allow you to develop a deeper connection with each team member. This helps build trust and rapport, which is crucial for effective teamwork and collaboration.

2. Understanding individual needs: By engaging in one-on-one conversations, you can gain insights into each team member's unique strengths, weaknesses, and goals. This understanding enables you to provide personalized guidance and support to help them succeed in their roles.

3. Addressing concerns and challenges: One-on-one talk time provides a safe space for sales team members to express any concerns or challenges they may be facing. It allows you to listen actively and provide guidance or solutions to help overcome these obstacles.

4. Providing feedback and coaching: One-on-one conversations allow you to provide timely and constructive feedback to each team member. This feedback helps them improve their skills, refine their approach, and achieve better results.

5. Setting commit goals and tracking progress: One-on-one discussions provide an opportunity to set individual goals and track progress. By aligning their objectives with the team's overall goals, you can ensure that everyone is working towards a common purpose.

Overall, one-on-one talk time with sales team members fosters a supportive and collaborative environment, enhances communication, and helps each team member thrive in their roles.
