𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀® 𝗜𝗻𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗧𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗖𝗮𝗻𝗼𝗽𝘆 𝗛𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗙𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻

Through the Canopy Housing Foundation, Realtors® continue to make a meaningful impact across Mecklenburg and Iredell counties. This week, the Foundation awarded $85,000 through its Habitat Support Grant and Community Grants programs to strengthen housing stability and create opportunity throughout our region.

Joan Goode, Realtor®, 2026 President of Canopy Realtor® Association, announced the following awards:

🏆 $30,000 in Habitat Support Grants awarded to seven Habitat for Humanity organizations, helping fund home construction, critical repairs and home preservation projects.

🏆 $55,000 in Community Grants awarded to 14 nonprofit organizations addressing unmet housing needs through housing assistance and other critical community programs.

We're honored to have our 2026 REALTORS® Care Day featured by Realtors Are Good Neighbors. Thank you to our REALTOR® volunteers, community partners and homeowners who made this day of service possible. Together, we're building stronger communities across the Charlotte region and Haywood County.

More than 250 Canopy Housing Foundation REALTOR® volunteers rolled up their sleeves and worked side by side during the 2026 REALTORS® Care Day event on April 17 in honor of Fair Housing Month.

The annual day of service focused on helping a diverse group of homeowners with critical—and often unaffordable—exterior home repairs, along with essential adaptive and safety modifications at 13 sites across the Charlotte region and Haywood County, North Carolina.

Over the course of a single day, REALTOR® teams completed a wide range of community projects, including supporting Habitat for Humanity builds; landscaping homes with fresh flowers and yard cleanup; interior painting; refreshing shelter kitchens and bedrooms; organizing pantry and storage spaces; moving donated items into off-site storage; repairing and replacing playground equipment; and clearing debris from outdoor areas. The work supported safer, healthier and more welcoming spaces for the communities they serve.

Community impact happens one act of service at a time.

During Give Back Week, Canopy Housing Foundation volunteers returned to Pearl Park for our latest Adopt-A-Stream cleanup, removing 50 pounds of trash despite rainy conditions and muddy banks.

Since 2022, our Realtor® volunteers have helped remove more than 3,000 pounds of trash from this waterway through our partnership with Charlotte-Mecklenburg Storm Water Services.

Thank you to everyone who continues to invest their time and talents in building stronger, healthier communities.

A little rain wasn't about to stop this crew.

Yesterday, on June 2, as part of the ‘Give Back Week’, Canopy Housing Foundation volunteers headed back to Pearl Park for our second Adopt-A-Stream cleanup of the year, collecting 50 pounds of trash while navigating muddy banks, overgrown vegetation, and wet conditions.

These cleanups happen several times each year, and the impact adds up. Since adopting the stream in partnership with Charlotte-Mecklenburg Storm Water Services in 2022, our Canopy Realtor® volunteers have helped remove more than 3,000 pounds of trash from the waterway.

Thank you to everyone who rolled up their sleeves and helped keep our community beautiful. Together, we're making a difference – one cleanup at a time.
