Don't be a Victim of Consumer Fraud in the Health Care Marketplace. Beware of people asking for money to enroll you in Marketplace or "Obamacare" insurance. Legitimate enrollment assisters will NOT ask for money.

It's that time of year again, time to file your taxes for 2022. If you had a Marketplace plan and used advance payments of the premium tax credit (APTC) to lower your monthly health insurance premium, you’ll have to “reconcile” when you file your federal taxes. This means you’ll compare 2 figures:
The amount of premium tax credit you used in advance during the year. ( This was paid directly to your health plan so your monthly payment was lower.)
The premium tax credit you actually qualify for based on your final income for the year.
Any difference between the two figures will affect your refund or tax owed.
You should have received Form 1095-A in the mail by mid-February. It should also be available in your health insurance marketplace account. If you did not receive it, or it's incorrect, contact the Marketplace Call Center at 1-800-318-2596. Here is a link with more information: https://www.healthcare.gov/taxes-reconciling/

You must reconcile your premium tax credit when you file your tax return if you were enrolled in Health Insurance Marketplace® plan.
