With interest rates dropping, a lot of buyers are trying to get ahead of the spring buying season and beat the rush. The Mortgage Bankers Association reported this week that mortgage applications are up about 10% since close of last year. This is during a time where there’s typically a seasonal decline in purchase applications.

Mortgage rates in the US decreased for the second week in a row, reaching a four-month low.

Inflation data for December came out last week and had a positive impact on interest rates. This Consumer Price Index (CPI) dropped .6% YOY which is an excellent sign for the economy!
