A Big Congratulations To Mr Alex BΓ©langer On His First Achievement From Forex Trading Investment.πππ
Key point here: reinvest those dividends to better enable the effects of compounding.
I prefer companies that can reinvest that cash directly into their business (to avoid taxation before any dividend payouts). But for an old blue-chip like AT&T, the level of returns (ROIC and ROE) tend to be low, uncertain, and growth prospects have all but stalled.
The stock's future prospects are speculative and are really only suitable for income-oriented investors looking to buy and drip indefinitely.
Regardless of the stockβs volatility in recent years, losses are only realized if the stock is traded or sold. From a long-term perspective, investors would have simply enjoyed a consistent dividend payout every quarterly, no matter the noise in the stock market.
AT&t has long valued its dividend payout (nearly 85% now) and figures to continue offering investors a strong and steady payout for years to come.
