Giving birth and becoming a postpartum person is a wild ride. Between the huge shift in hormones, recovering from birth, and caring for a newborn, having a strong support system can make all the difference.

Kathryn, a postpartum doula, shares a few simple ways you can show up for a friend or loved one and help keep them afloat during this exciting (and sometimes really challenging) time:

🍵 Bring them a warm cup of soup or tea
🧻 Restock their bathroom with the essentials
👂 Sit beside them and simply listen

Sometimes, the smallest acts of care mean the most. ❤️

A weekend of not eating your best? It happens.

shares that the bigger issue isn’t one meal, it’s the pattern of blood sugar spikes over and over again. And in midlife, hormone changes can make insulin resistance, weight gain and energy crashes even harder to manage.

Her advice is pretty simple:
🍗 Get protein + fiber at every meal
🚶 Take a walk after eating
😴 Get enough sleep
🧘 Find ways to manage stress

Remember when you could eat whatever, exercise whenever (or barely exercise at all 😅), and somehow feel fine? Midlife can change the rules.

As Amanda Powell explains, what your body could “get away with” in your 20s and 30s can look very different in midlife. Hormonal changes, muscle loss, metabolism and recovery all play a role.

The answer isn't to fight your body, it’s to better understand it. 💕
