West Virginia Hope Scholarship

If you are unsure if your student is attending a nonpublic school or a microschool, please use the “School/Provider Search” on the Hope Scholarship website. Type the name of your school into the search bar and the result will identify as School or Microschool. Please note: microschool students are considered Individualized Instructional Program (IIP) students and are subject to the academic reporting requirements of the IIP pathway.

The Hope Scholarship has two educational pathways: (1) Attendance at a participating nonpublic school or (2) Individualized Instructional Program (IIP). Students attending a microschool fall under the IIP pathway and are required to submit the academic reporting requirements outlined below.

Application Tip! Please do not use a work email address to create your Hope Scholarship account. Please use a personal email address in the event you change employment, so you don’t lose access to your Hope Scholarship account. If you need to change the email you used to create your account, please email the Hope Engagement Center at [email protected].

Friendly reminder! You must notify Hope Scholarship Board staff when your student graduates. A student who has graduated from a secondary education program may not participate in the Hope Scholarship or spend scholarship funds after their graduation. Account holders must notify the Hope Scholarship Office within five days of a student’s graduation via email.

Application Tip! All proof of residency documentation must include an address, and it must match the address provided on the Hope Scholarship application. Utility bills mailed to a post office box are acceptable if the service address matches the address on the application.

All participating nonpublic schools must submit the required enrollment confirmations for Hope Scholarship students attending their school to the county superintendent of the student’s county of residence by no later than June 8 annually.
