Meet Abby Harper, a long-term member of our Morgantown team who was recently promoted to Director of Insurance and Investment Operations! 🎉💙

In search of a fresh start, Abby joined Northwestern Mutual - West Virginia in 2014. Although she had no background in the financial industry, what began as a role supporting a financial advisor quickly became a rewarding career built on continuous learning, growth, and a passion for helping others. Over the years, she has earned insurance and investment licenses, served as manager of our Morgantown office, and now steps into this exciting new leadership role.

What Abby enjoys most about NMWV is the people. From supporting clients as they plan for their futures to collaborating with colleagues, she values the relationships she's built throughout her career. She credits mentors like Vera Gay Fitchett and John Barnes for helping shape her professional journey and encourages others to embrace challenges as opportunities to learn and grow.

Outside of work, Abby enjoys traveling with her husband and partaking in their unique shared hobby -- hot air ballooning -- as well as spending time at home with their puppy, Merle. 🐶

Growth happens when we step away from the day-to-day and invest in each other. ⛰️💙

Our second annual Momentum in the Mountains was a huge success, with more than 60 of our advisors and team members in attendance! NMWV came together at Stonewall Resort last week for a day of learning, collaborating, and getting inspired for the months ahead. Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped create incredible momentum that's sure to carry us through the rest of the year. 💪

Last week, our Managing Partner, Wes Richardson, had a successful trip to West Virginia University, where he had the chance to share his leadership journey and connect with over 250 future business professionals. 💙💼💛

The WVU John Chambers College of Business and Economics' Finance Professional Image Night allowed students to get to know successful financial leaders on a more personal level. Wes not only gave a class talk and participated on a panel with fellow industry professionals, but also had lunch and dinner with WVU's business students, giving his insights on what it takes to build a career in finance along the way.
