Medicare and Social Security can feel overwhelming, confusing, and honestly a little intimidating.

The rules aren’t always clear, the systems don’t talk to each other, and one small mistake can create stress you didn’t see coming.

You can try to figure it all out on your own.

Or you can come to us and have a team that walks you through every step, explains things in plain language, and makes sure everything is done correctly the first time.

Our job is to take the pressure off, answer the questions you didn’t even know to ask, and help you feel confident in your decisions.

We’re here to make Medicare easy and to make sure you never feel alone in the process.

Not every act of kindness is loud. Some of the most meaningful ones are quiet, thoughtful, and deeply felt 💗

Through our Comfort Doll Project, we are collecting baby dolls for hospice patients living with dementia. These dolls can help bring calm during moments of confusion, offer a sense of purpose, and create small but powerful moments of connection.

This project continues to grow through our partnership with hospice liaisons Sierra Jones and Kristy Ash, and through people in our community who choose to make a difference.

This week, we want to sincerely thank Jacque Cline 🤝

Jacque, your donation is going to bring comfort and peace to someone who truly needs it. That kind of impact is lasting, and we are so grateful for you.

If you would like to be part of this, we are accepting new or gently used baby dolls at our Charleston office:

1210 Virginia St E, Charleston, WV 25301
Monday through Thursday from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM

If you cannot donate, we would love if you shared this post.

Most people don’t realize that the healthcare system is designed to flow a certain way.

You’re meant to start with your primary care doctor.
From there, you may be referred to a specialist.
Urgent care is for quick, one-time issues.
And the ER is reserved for true emergencies.

Each of these has a different role.

Rule: The path you take through the system matters.

When care follows this flow, things tend to move smoother.

When it doesn’t, it can lead to higher costs, delays, or confusion about what’s covered.

It’s not something most people are ever taught.

But understanding it can make a big difference.

These two get confused all the time.

Medicare and Medicaid are not the same thing.

Medicare is based on age or disability.

Medicaid is based on income and asset eligibility.

And because they serve different purposes, they follow completely different rules.
This is where a lot of confusion starts…

People assume one will cover what the other doesn’t, or that they work interchangeably.

They don’t.

Understanding the difference between these two programs is one of the first steps in understanding how long-term care, coverage gaps, and financial planning actually work together.

Happy National Honesty Day!

At Just Us, we are committed to honesty and making insurance easier to understand.
We believe you should know how Medicare and health insurance work before you need to make decisions.

That means being clear about what is covered, what is not, and how different choices can affect you over time.

Too often, people are left to figure it out on their own.

We are here to change that by providing clear answers, simple explanations, and support when you need it.

A simple gift can bring a moment of calm, connection, and comfort 💙

Through our Comfort Doll Project, we are collecting baby dolls for hospice patients living with dementia. These dolls often help ease anxiety, provide a sense of purpose, and bring back familiar feelings of nurturing and care.

This work is made possible alongside hospice liaisons Sierra Jones and Kristy Ash, and through people in our community who choose to show up in meaningful ways.

This week, we want to say a heartfelt thank you to Lisa Collier 🤝

Lisa, your generosity is going to make a real difference in someone’s day. What you gave may seem small, but to someone experiencing confusion or fear, it can mean everything.

If you would like to be part of this, we are collecting new or gently used baby dolls at our Charleston office:

1210 Virginia St E, Charleston, WV 25301
Monday through Thursday from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM

And if you are not able to donate, sharing this helps us reach more people who can.

Most people don’t realize that where you go for care can change what you pay later until they see the bill.

They go to the ER for something that could have been handled at urgent care…
and instead of a small copay, it turns into a much larger charge.

Rule: Not all care is viewed the same by insurance.

Primary care manages your overall health.
Urgent care is for minor issues that can’t wait.
The ER is for true emergencies.
Insurance treats each of these differently.

That means the place you choose doesn’t just affect your visit.
It affects your cost after.

We spend a lot of time teaching how these decisions play out in real life, because no one really explains the rules behind it.

Many people assume Medicare covers “the basics” of staying healthy.

But when it comes to dental, vision, and hearing…

It doesn’t.

Basic Medicare was designed to focus on hospital and doctor care, not ongoing maintenance like cleanings, exams, glasses, or hearing aids.

And because it was built this way from the beginning, these areas were never automatically included.

That’s why so many people are caught off guard when they need something as simple as a crown, new glasses, or hearing support… and realize it’s not covered.

This is one of the clearest examples of how Medicare was built in pieces, with different types of care handled in different ways.

A small act of kindness can create a moment of peace when it is needed most 💙

Our Comfort Doll Project is all about bringing comfort to hospice patients living with dementia. These dolls may look simple, but they can help calm anxiety, spark memories, and give someone a sense of purpose again.

This is something we are building alongside hospice liaisons Sierra Jones and Kristy Ash, and it only works because of people in our community who care enough to step in and help.

This week, we want to recognize Susie Cochran 🤝
Susie, your donation is helping create real moments of comfort and connection for someone who needs it. That kind of kindness does not go unnoticed, and we are so grateful for you.

If you have ever wondered how you can make a difference, this is one simple way to do it. We are collecting new or gently used baby dolls at our Charleston office:
1210 Virginia St E, Charleston, WV 25301
Monday through Thursday from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM

And if donating is not an option right now, sharing this helps more than you know.

This is how we take care of each other. 🩷
